What to Eat

Try local favorites like cepelinai (potato dumplings), kugelis (potato pudding), and šaltibarščiai (cold beet soup). Lithuanian rye bread and honey are also delicious staples.

Tipping

Tipping is appreciated but not mandatory. A 5–10% tip for good service is common in restaurants.

Smoking

Smoking is prohibited indoors in public places. Outdoor smoking areas are available.

Shopping Hours

Most shops are open 10am–8pm, Monday to Saturday. Some are open on Sundays in central areas.

VAT

Standard VAT is 21%. Non-EU visitors may be eligible for a tax refund on qualifying purchases.

Visa

Visitors from outside the EU may need a visa. Contact ESE for visa support letters.
